{"id":3392,"date":"2013-05-19T21:48:53","date_gmt":"2013-05-19T12:48:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fuekoto.com\/?p=3392"},"modified":"2013-05-19T21:48:53","modified_gmt":"2013-05-19T12:48:53","slug":"3392","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sarahakiyoshi.com\/?p=3392","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Immersed in her family\u2019s roots in the traditional sacred dancing of <em>kagura<\/em> associated with Shinto (the indigenous spirituality of Japan), KOTO began playing the <em>kagurabue<\/em>, a side-blown flute of <em>kagura<\/em>, at the age of 5 and shinobue, a high pitched flute used in Kabuki and Noh theater, at the age of 19<br \/>\n\u3000<br \/>\n\u3000<br \/>\n\u3000<br \/>\nIn her teens and 20\u2019s KOTO began building her own distinctive musical worldview through her collaborations ranging from the traditional ancient instruments of Japan to other music and instruments from around the globe. For her upcoming US debut performance, she will bring together her band which has been highly received in performances in Japan and Europe, composed of herself, KOHKI on guitar and shamisen (a Japanese, 3-stringed fretless banjo), and Shun-ya Gomi on keyboards and drums.
